Over the years the Marsh family  has learned the best way to operate a farm is to do it the same way one would invest in the stock market - DIVERSIFY.   Just like you would invest in many different types of stock to minimize risk, we do the same  by using a 4 crop rotation along with ventures in hay sales, cattle production, and commercial snow removal.

 
GRAIN
               Farming in East Central Indiana can be challenging.  Slope, soil type, drainage and fertility can change from field to field and sometimes within a field.  Robin and Steven use the latest technology, including GPS, variable rate application, and yield mapping, to create results that are beneficial for the landowner and tenant.  The brothers work with the local fertilize dealer in practicing a soil fertility building program to insure that every field that they are in increases in fertility.  Tillage practices vary from field to field.  Ultimately its the landowner that can decide what practice is used.  From no-till to deep ripping Marsh Farms is capable of doing a wide range of things depending on drainage, compaction, soil type, and field conditions.  A crop rotation of corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay is used to minimize plant pests, disease, and overall risk while improving the surrounding environment and animal habitat.

Hay
         Hay production in Indiana can be just as challenging as the grain.  We believe that when it comes to putting up high quality hay  one has to be prepared to get it done in the quickest, most efficient way possible.  To do this Marsh Farms has access to the latest technology in farm equipment to make the type of hay the market wants.  Our arsenal of equipment includes:

                       3 - Case IH DCX  mower conditioners
                       3 - double rotary rakes
                       2 - Case IH 8575 mid size balers w/preservative
                       3 - multi basket tedders
                        
         We also have multiple tractor-trailers and loaders to get the product to the customer in a timely fashion.
